Rainforest World Music Festival

The Rainforest World Music Festival (often abbreviated as RWMF) is an annual three-day music festival. The festival celebrates the diversity of world music, held in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia, with daytime music workshops, cultural displays, craft displays, food stalls, and main-stage evening concerts.

As the festival organiser of the iconic event of the Rainforest World Music Festival (RWMF), Sarawak Tourism Board (STB) has strengthened the path towards a sustainable and eco-friendly festival since 2015. Such greening efforts culminated in RWMF 2019 where STB reduced leftover festival waste through sustainable procurement, waste management and the ban of single-use plastic water bottles to create a green zero-waste festival. In addition, the Borneo Jazz Festival also deployed several green practices as part of efforts to create a zero-waste event and encourage festival-goers to make smarter water and food choices by going local. Other efforts to create a positive local impact include encourage the upcycling of single-use plastic and reducing waste in the run-up to the Borneo Jazz Festival.
